In 2008, cockfighting was outlawed in the United States. What had been practiced for centuries became a criminal offense almost overnight. While this change spared many birds from suffering, it also placed historic game fowl bloodlines at risk. Without the ability to legally continue the sport, many longtime breeders stepped away, leaving some carefully developed lines vulnerable to disappearing.
To help preserve these rare breeds, Greenfire Farms has collected and continues to propagate some of the finest remaining examples. Our goal is conservation and responsible stewardship. We do not sell to anyone who intends to use these birds for fighting.
